Dyer County Golf returned to The Farms Monday afternoon for a matchup with Dyersburg that had previously been rescheduled due to extreme heat. The Dyer County boys turned in an impressive team score of 148 to pick up a 14-stroke victory over Dyersburg, which finished at 162. Beau Thurmon led the field with the low round of the day, firing a 34 to earn medalist honors. Teammate Jamison Rhodes was just one stroke behind, shooting a 35 to finish tied for second. The victory continued a strong stretch for the Dyer County boys, who have put together several solid team and individual performances during the early portion of the season. On the girls’ side, Dyersburg came away with the team victory, shooting a 96. Dyer County finished with a 106. The Choctaws will have a quick turnaround and another opportunity to compete on their home course. Dyer County returns to action Tuesday at The Farms, hosting Gibson County, Ripley and Halls.
