Volleyball Sweep Dyersburg

Dyer County Volleyball continued its strong start to the District 13AA schedule Tuesday night, going on the road and earning victories in both varsity and junior varsity action against Dyersburg. The varsity Choctaws remained unbeaten in district play with a 3-0 sweep, winning 25-13, 25-9 and 25-16. Dyer County controlled the match from the opening set and was particularly dominant in the second, holding Dyersburg to just nine points. The Trojans made a push in the third, but the Choctaws closed out the night with a 25-16 victory to complete the sweep. Dyer County was effective from the service line, recording 16 aces in the three-set victory. Katie Beth Caldwell led the Choctaws with seven aces on 15 service attempts. Zoey Morris and Ella Beasley added three aces each, while Ady B Harrison recorded two and Kate Benadetto added one. The victory moved the varsity Choctaws to 2-0 in District 13AA play after opening their district schedule with a straight-set victory at South Gibson on Monday. Dyer County also picked up a win in the junior varsity match, sweeping Dyersburg 25-15 and 25-20. The JV Choctaws recorded eight service aces in the victory, led by Leighton Peery with three. Ava Prince added two, while Harper Peery, Isabel Lack and Macy Seaton each recorded one. Dyer County now turns its attention to another district road test. The Choctaws will travel to Obion County on Thursday for their third District 13AA matchup of the week.
