Dyer County girls soccer put together an impressive offensive performance at home Thursday night, cruising to a 9-0 victory over Covington. The Lady Choctaws received goals from six different players, with Ava Pearson leading the attack with a hat trick. Pearson found the back of the net three times to account for a third of Dyer County’s scoring on the night. Alayna Leedy added two goals, while Addisyn Trout, Peyton Murphy, Jenna Claire Anderson and Grace Webb each scored once in the victory. The nine-goal performance continued a good start to the season for Dyer County. The Lady Choctaws opened the year with a 5-1 road victory over Peabody, and Thursday’s shutout marked another strong performance on both ends of the field. With six different players contributing goals and Pearson recording the hat trick, Dyer County’s balanced attack was on full display in the home victory.
