Dyer County Volleyball capped off a perfect week of District 13AA action Thursday night, traveling to Obion County and earning its third straight district sweep. The Choctaws controlled the varsity match from start to finish, defeating Obion County in straight sets, 25-10, 25-13 and 25-6. Dyer County was especially effective from the service line, piling up 22 aces in the three-set victory. Ady B Harrison led the Choctaws with six aces, while Kate Benedetto and Zoey Morris each added five. Katie Beth Caldwell, Ella Beasley and Evie Rogers recorded two apiece. The win completed a busy stretch in which Dyer County played three District 13AA opponents in four days — and didn't drop a set in varsity action. The Choctaws opened district play Monday with a 3-0 road victory over South Gibson before traveling to Dyersburg Tuesday and earning another straight-set win. Thursday's victory at Obion County moved Dyer County to 3-0 in District 13AA play, with all three wins coming on the road. Dyer County will get a day away from competition Friday before crossing state lines for its next matchup. The Choctaws travel to McCracken County, Kentucky, on Saturday morning as they step away from district play.
